A Life Changed — From the Inside Out

By his own admission, Bobby* wasn’t a great student. He sat at the back of the class, uninterested, unmotivated, unmoved.

Then Bobby started attending Chengdu International School – and something inside him changed.

At first, it was his interest in school. He started to enjoy his classes. And he found friends in the small community at Chengdu International School. “We’re all friends with each other,” he says. “And what impresses me the most is that the students are actually friends with the teachers.”

It’s in those relationships Bobby discovered renewed motivation.

He credits his teachers for inspiring him and his work. “They always tell me, ‘You’re doing a good job this time. You can do a better job next time.’ And I really started to improve.”

In fact, he started to excel.

With the encouragement of his physics teacher, he entered the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, the world’s largest international pre-college science competition. And he won the Best in Category award.

Moved from an attitude of apathy to a life transformed from the inside out, Bobby recently graduated and began a six-month internship at Intel China. He’s the youngest intern they’ve ever employed.

His work brings him into contact with international influencers. And he brings everything that he has learned into those interactions.
